Klaassen closing in on ‘dream’ Everton FC move

Ajax forward Davy Klaassen is closing in on a £25 million move to Everton.

Klaassen has attracted strong interest from the Bundesliga and Serie A after helping the Amsterdam club reach the Europa League final last season.

But the Blues are now set to win the race for the 24-year-old with reports in Holland indicating talks with Ajax have progressed significantly in recent days.

De Telegraaf claim that Klaassen considers the Premier League a dream transfer due to his playing style being well suited to the intensity of the English top flight.

Everton are also planning to better the Dutch international’s salary at Ajax with his prospective earnings standing in the region of a £90,000 per week.

That figure will be almost five times what the player currently earns.

Peter Bosz’s decision to leave Ajax for Borussia Dortmund is also understood to have played a part in Klaassen’s proposed move to Goodison Park this summer.

Koeman is also hopeful of securing Sandro Ramirez’s signature after the striker held discussions with Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh.

The one-time Barcelona man was photographed in Liverpool city centre on Sunday as he discussed personal terms on a £5.2m switch from Malaga.
