Romelu Lukaku has been nominated for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award.
The Everton striker enjoyed a stellar campaign, racking up 26 goals and six assists in all competitions as he helped Ronald Koeman’s team finish seventh and secure European football next season.
25 of his goals came in the Premier League and saw him finish as runner-up to Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane in the Golden Boot charts.
His achievements did not go unnoticed as he was named in the PFA’s Team of the Year as well as being nominated for the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
He is one of five names nominated for the award in a list compiled by a panel of experts at Sky Sports.
Other names on the list are Kane, Spurs teammate Dele Alli, Chelsea duo N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. Lukaku is the only player not to play for a London club to be nominated.
Kane, who won the Golden Boot for the second year running with 29 goals to his name, is currently leading the race with 35% of the vote. PFA and FWA player of the year Kante is in second place with 28%.
Voting is open between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, with the winner announced at 10am on Saturday.
