Everton FC announce historic SportPesa deal

Everton have announced a record breaking sponsorship deal with SportPesa.

From June 1, the African gaming firm will adorn the Blues’ shirts until summer 2022 as part of what is being hailed as the most lucrative in the club’s history.

Just an hour before the official announcement, SportsPesa’s official Twitter account alluded to their new partnership before it was subsequently deleted.

The Kenya-based company will also be opening a new European office at the Liver Building, which was recently co-purchased by Everton chief Farhad Moshiri.

A move to the iconic building on Liverpool’s waterfront will see the creation of over 70 jobs in the local area.

“We’re pleased to have secured the biggest commercial partnership deal in the club’s history with an ambitious and growing global company,” said Robert Elstone, Everton’s CEO.

“From the outset we have been impressed by SportPesa and the company’s plans for the future.

“Over the coming months and years we will be working closely to realise our ambitions together.

“SportPesa are committed to significant investment, not only in Everton through this partnership but also in the city as they open up a new European headquarters that creates new jobs in Liverpool.

“The Liverpool office will give SportPesa the chance to engage with supporters through a number of fan activities and we look forward to an exciting partnership together.”
