Everton’s Tom Davies has been tipped to become a ‘superstar’ by Steven Gerrard.
Davies is enjoying a regular starring role for the Blues since forcing his way into Ronald Koeman’s plans earlier this season with a series of impressive displays.
The 18-year-old’s emergence has seen him usurp the likes of James McCarthy and Gareth Barry to a place in the starting line-up at Goodison Park.
And Liverpool legend Gerrard believes that boldness will stand Davies in good stead as he aspires to remain a regular fixture on the biggest stage.
“I think the one to be excited about at Everton is Tom Davies, who seems to have broken in and stayed in,” he told BT Sport.
“[He is a] terrific footballer, scored a few exciting goals.
“What he has done is he has announced himself and basically said to a regular starter: ‘I am taking your place. I am staying in there’.
“And they are the ones that usually go on to become superstars.”
