Koeman: Lukaku won’t sign new Everton FC deal

Romelu Lukaku has told Ronald Koeman that he will not sign a new deal at Everton.

Lukaku could leave the Blues this summer as he continues to resist attempts to tie him to a long-term extension beyond his current expiry in summer 2019.

A return to former club Chelsea is firmly mooted for the Belgian after Didier Drogba claimed he ‘knows’ what his ex-team mate is planning for his future.

Koeman was unable to elaborate on Drogba’s comments but admitted that the striker is adamant that he will not extend his stay at Goodison Park.

“He told me that he won’t sign a new contract,” said the Everton manager.

“Maybe I’ll wait for the call from Drogba that he can tell me what will happen next season.

“I leave it now because I can’t change the situation at the moment and it’s better to focus [on Burnley] at the weekend.

“We will see what happens at the end of the season.”
