Ramiro Funes Mori is expected to miss the rest of Everton’s season.
Funes Mori was stretchered off midway through Argentina’s World Cup qualifying defeat to Bolivia in La Paz on Tuesday night with a knee problem.
It has since been revealed that the Blues defender suffered a torn meniscus.
He will discuss the injury with a surgeon next week but the 26-year-old is facing up to the reality of spending the final two months of the campaign on the sidelines.
Ronald Koeman has regularly called upon Funes Mori this season as Ashley Williams’ defensive partner but has been used as a substitute in recent weeks.
