Liverpool are considering a summer move for Burnley defender Michael Keane.
Keane was targeted by the Reds’ local rivals Everton during the January transfer window but the Clarets resisted all approaches for the centre-back.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche fired a firm hands-off warning to the Blues as well as Manchester City, who also retained an interest in the highly rated 24-year-old.
But Jurgen Klopp is the latest to target Keane in a bid to shore up Liverpool’s defence following a season hampered by disruption and poor performances.
Both Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip have been limited his injuries while understudies Ragnar Klavan and Lucas Leiva have both struggled.
The Daily Mail claim that the Liverpool manager was impressed by Keane’s recent outings, which included Burnley’s 2-1 reversal at Anfield earlier this month.
England coach Gareth Southgate is expected to hand the former Manchester United academy graduate his international debut following his England call-up.
