Everton defender Seamus Coleman has been urged to join Manchester United.
Coleman was previously linked with a move to the Red Devils during Roberto Martinez’s tenure as Blues manager but a proposed switch never came to fruition.
However Old Trafford legend Roy Keane has urged the Republic of Ireland international to consider linking up with Jose Mourinho’s side this summer.
Keane regularly works with Coleman in his role as Martin O’Neill’s assistant for the national side and believes his compatriot would flourish with the Red Devils.
He said: “I’d love to see Seamus at Man United. It would suit him down to the ground.
“Obviously, he’s at a very good club in Everton…he isn’t getting any younger.
“From a selfish point of view, from an Irish point of view, you want players like Seamus playing in the Champions League and getting a taste of football at that level.
“Saying that, joining United might not mean Champions League at this moment in time.
Keane’s comments are likely to irk the Goodison Park hierarchy just months after he publicly lamented the club in the row over James McCarthy’s injury lay-off.
