Everton FC defender pens new deal ahead of loan switch

Tyias Browning has extended his stay at Everton with a new two-and-a-half year contract.

Browning’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season but the Blues’ academy graduate has committed his future until summer 2019.

Following the agreement, the defender secured a loan move to Championship outfit Preston North End for the remainder of the current campaign.

The former England under-20 international is currently several months into his playing comeback after being sidelined for 12 months with a knee injury.

Ronald Koeman has been unable to call on Browning but the Liverpool-born full back featured under the Everton manager’s predecessor Roberto Martinez.

He made six appearances for the first team last season prior to his injury woes after previously making his senior debut against Liverpool in the 2014/15 season.
