Everton FC targeting cut-price Lukaku back-up

Everton are considering a move for APOEL striker Pieros Sotiriou.

The Blues have been keen to add to their forward options in January as Ronald Koeman looks for back up to Romelu Lukaku.

Ademola Lookman has already arrived from Charlton Athletic while they had been linked with a move for Standard Liege striker Ishak Belfodil but that was quickly scrapped last week.

Beyond Lookman, the Dutchman has only Arouna Kona and Enner Valencia to choose from should Lukaku get injured.

Another striker is needed then and they are now being linked with Sotiriou by French newspaper Le Parisien.

The forward has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season and that has earned him admirers in the Premier League.

His current contract does not expire until 2020 but the report claims he could be available for as little as £2.5 million.

The Blues are not the only Premier League side keeping track of Sotiriou, though, with Southampton and Stoke City also interested.
