AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella has revealed that he is keen to discover the reason behind Everton loanee Gerard Deulofeu’s unfulfilled potential.
Deulofeu, 22, secured a half-season switch to the San Siro on Monday following lengthy negotiations between the Blues and the Serie A giants.
The winger’s second spell at Goodison Park failed to hit the same heights as his initial spell while on a season-long loan from Barcelona in the 2012/13 season.
And Milan boss Montella admits that he is hopeful of helping Deulofeu recapture his former glories during the rest of the current campaign in Italy.
He said: “He’s a player I know very well because I’ve been following him for some time.
“He has all the talent in the world, but hasn’t expressed it fully.
“One of my tasks will be to see why, because he’s a very strong player. We signed him to play him.
“We’ll see how he is physically, but he’s keen to make his mark.”
