Tom Davies delighted at Everton FC dream come true

Tom Davies has admitted that his first goal for Everton was a dream come true.

The midfielder, 18, capped off a man of the match performance by scoring the Blues’ third goal in their 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City at Goodison Park.

Davies, the nephew of Everton’s 1970 title winner Alan Whittle, had previously set the wheels in motion for Kevin Mirallas to assist Romelu Lukaku’s opener.

“It’s my dream. To go out there and do it is unbelievable,” he told Sky Sports.

“It hasn’t quite sunk in yet. I’m sure it will do tonight when I’ve spoke with my friends and my family.”

He added: “I got a chance and I took it thankfully. I’m really happy that Ross [Barkley] has spotted me there and I’ve managed to put it away.

“It is surreal being with the first-team in general but today, to beat City, and to do it as comfortably as we have, is a great feeling.”
