Koeman: Some players have no Everton FC futures

Ronald Koeman has revealed that several Everton players are aware that they have no futures at the club.

Koeman’s warning came after the Blues managed to offload two first-team misfits in Oumar Niasse and Tom Cleverley over the past 24 hours.

Niasse, a £13.5 million signing last February, joins Hull City on loan until the end of the season while a similar deal has been struck to take Cleverley to Watford.

And the Everton manager is preparing to offload a number of squad players in the January transfer window as well as securing further additions this month.

“Most of the players know the situation,” said Koeman.

“Some players actually in the squad now [know] they don’t have that future for Everton.”

He added: “In some positions we need more balance.

“We need players for the future. That’s why we signed [Ademola] Lookman. He’s a future project. We’d like to be stronger, we like to improve.

“If we can do that with the players that we have then we will, but if we can sign better players then we will do it.”
