Everton are targeting a swap deal in Tottenham’s attempts to land Ross Barkley.
Barkley has emerged as a target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side despite enduring largely inconsistent performances under new manager Ronald Koeman this term.
And Koeman is reportedly planning to utilise the predicament of the England international’s future to the Blues’ advantage for one of their former targets.
The Sunday People claim Moussa Sissoko has been identified as the player the Everton manager is keen to use as a makeweight in Barkley’s prospective departure.
Sissoko has similarly struggled since securing a £30 million move to White Hart Lane last summer, which came after he turned down Everton’s advances.
He was on the verge of a move to Goodison Park on transfer deadline day before making a last-minute change of heart in order to join Spurs.
But the switch has turned sour with the French midfielder failing to find the target in 18 outings since making his debut for the North London club.
