Koeman makes Everton FC derby victory pledge

Ronald Koeman has vowed to repeat his match-winning celebration against Liverpool if Everton win Monday’s Merseyside derby.

Koeman previously got the better of Jurgen Klopp when Southampton overcame a two-goal deficit against the Anfield side to emerge victorious in March.

The Dutchman revelled in overcoming the Reds and pledged to replicate the feat if the Blues are able to end their six-year wait for a derby victory.

He said: “I remember we beat Liverpool at home. We were 2-0 down at half-time and we beat them 3-2.

“He was celebrating his goals like a really happy manager, jumping and jumping.

“After we scored our third goal, I was running to the corner and that was the first time after my Achilles surgery and I was still a little bit afraid!

“If we score the winning goal, then I will run again,”
