Everton FC add Leicester City chief to new set-up

Steve Walsh’s overhaul of Everton’s scouting department has seen him joined by one of his former Leicester City lieutenants.

The Premier League champions’ European scout Dave Worthington has linked up again with Walsh in his new role as Goodison Park’s director of footbal.

The 71-year-old has worked with a host of English top flight clubs, including Chelsea and Hull City as well as working regularly under Sam Allardyce.

England’s recently deposed manager enlisted Worthington’s services during his spells in charge of West Ham, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers.

He also previously worked alongside another of Walsh’s Everton recruits Martyn Glover, who recently took up the role as the club’s new chief scout.

Worthington enjoyed a playing career as a right-back which saw him enjoy spells with Barrow, Grimsby Town and Southend United during the 1960s and 1970s.
