Memphis Depay has refused to rule out a January move to Everton.
Depay scored twice for Holland during their World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg, which came just hours after Ronald Koeman confirmed the Blues’ interest.
The winger faces an increasingly bleak future at Manchester United after failing to start a Premier League game under Jose Mourinho this season.
He was overlooked by the Red Devils manager for the Europa League trip to Fenerbahce and the subsquent game with Swansea City last weekend.
Everton fuelled further speculation about a potential switch by posting about Depay’s exploits for his country on their official Twitter account.
When asked about linking up with Everton, the 22-year-old said: ‘I do not know, we’ll have to see.
‘I focus on United, I do my very best to be able to get minutes.
“I’m going back to United with a good feeling because I have got minutes here [on international duty] and we won – that is the most important thing.”
