Carlos Valderrama has told Yerry Mina not to consider joining Everton.
Mina is currently weighing up his options after failing to establish himself at Barcelona since arriving during the January transfer window.
The Colombia international enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign in which he drew his country level in normal time of their last 16 exit to England.
Marco Silva is understood to be keen on adding Mina to the Blues’ defensive ranks, with a permanent £21 million move currently touted.
But ex-Colombia captain Valderrama has urged his compatriot to resist a switch to Goodison Park in favour of Galtasaray, one of several other suitors.
“The Premier League is attractive but for me the Champions League is the most prestigious,” he told Radio Caracol.
“I don’t think Yerry should join a mid-table team like Everton.
“Fatih Terim has a great record of developing players. If it were me, I would pick Galatasaray.”
