Two more stands will be opened for Tony Bellew’s WBC World Cruiserweight title fight at Goodison Park following high demand for tickets.
The original allocation of 12,000 seats have already been filled for the May 29 bout between Bellew and Iluna Makabu, but organisers have chosen to make further tickets available in both the Bullens Road and Goodison Road stands due to substantial interest.
Bellew’s fight for the vacant WBC belt is sure to be the main attraction on the night, with fellow Liverpool boxers Stephen Smith and David Price also featuring on the star-studded card.
And fight promoter Eddie Hearn praised the support the show has received from the people of Merseyside.
He said: “The support for this show has been fantastic.
“Bank Holiday Sunday, May 29 at Goodison Park is going to be a night to remember.
“Huge thanks to everyone for getting behind this event.”
