Tony Bellew landed a second stoppage win on David Haye in their rematch.
The Liverpool boxer produced an emphatic performance at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday just 14 months after defeating Haye at the same venue.
Bellew had taken the previous encounter in the 11th round after his opposite number picked up an ultimately costly injury in the sixth round.
Many had tipped the 35-year-old as the underdog in the clash but floored Haye three times before delivering a decisive knock-out blow.
Referee Howard Foster stopped the Londoner from contesting further as the latest chapter of the pair’s 18-month feud was again Bellew’s to own.
An emotional Bellew paid tribute to his late brother-in-law Ashley in his post-fight speech and had his name emblazoned on his shorts for the fight.
He said: “I just want to say I lost my brother-in-law in August and I swear to God he was watching me and he was there with me tonight for every punch, Ashley that was for you.
”I miss him so much. I’m broke. All week I’ve been on my own in the hotel and each night I’ve cried, I’m a bit emotional all I can think about is him.
“David Haye is an amazing fighter, he just got caught in a slugfest. He’s a great fighter, he has got crazy power but speed and power always decreases.
“He is a legend, a credit to the sport and I’m just happy I’ve got the win against the odds.
“It’s been a great journey. Who’s next? I don’t know. I am a walking Super Series. Every fight I’m in is a Super Series. I need that mega star.”
