Arne Slot has ‘no clue’ if Mohamed Salah has played his last game for Liverpool.
Salah broke ranks after last weekend’s draw at Leeds to claim his relationship with Slot had broken down since being benched for three consecutive games.
In addition to alleging that ‘someone wants me out’ of Anfield, the Egyptian hinted that Saturday’s visit of Brighton could see his farewell appearance.
But his omission from the Reds’ travelling squad for their Champions League trip to Inter Milan has cast further doubt over the forward’s Anfield future.
The decision to ground Salah is understood to have been made in consultation with Slot but has not extended to any disciplinary action.
However the Liverpool head coach admits he is unsure on whether the 33-year-old will again feature for the reigning Premier League champions.
“The only one who can answer that question is Mo himself,” said Slot.
“I can guess but I don’t think that’s the right thing to do in this moment of time. It’s hard for me to tell who he means in that situation, to be honest.
“We’ve let him know that he’s not travelling with us, so that was the only communication there has been there from us to him.
“Of course, before Saturday the two of us have spoken a lot. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.”
