Liverpool Women have tied up the signing of Chelsea’s Alejandra Bernabe.
The left-back arrives from the defending WSL champions on a season-long loan after a similar spell with Real Sociedad in her native Spain last season.
Bernabe joined the Londoners in 2023 after playing a part in Atletico Madrid’s Supercopa success in 2021 but has found first-team opportunities limited.
She is the Reds’ third signing of the January transfer window, joining Chelsea teammate and compatriot Julia Bartel and Scotland midfielder Sam Kerr.
LFC Women manager Matt Beard said: “Alejandra’s a very attack-minded full-back, very aggressive. Good on the ball, a good crosser of the ball.
“She’ll create competition for Taylor (Hinds) and what we tried to do in this window is create competition and depth in the group.
“It will make us better prepared for any injuries we pick up and tactically give us more flexibility and gives me more options.
“She’s a fantastic player and we’re looking forward to having her here.”
