Mohamed Salah admits he is ‘disappointed’ over talks on his Liverpool future.
Salah become only the third player in Anfield history to score 100 away goals after notching a brace for Arne Slot’s side in Sunday’s comeback win at Southampton.
But the Egypt international is still no closer to a resolution on his long-term future with the Reds ahead of his existing contract expiring at the end of the season.
Negotiations between club chiefs and Salah’s representative Ramy Abbas Issa are understood to have taken place and seen as a positive development on the issue.
The 32-year-old, however, has broken his silence on the impasse by speaking to written media for the first time in six years following the win on the South Coast.
‘We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” admitted Salah.
“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this.
“But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.
“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands.”
He added: “Of course [I’m disappointed].
“I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well.
“I’m disappointed but we will see.
“I am very professional. Everybody can see my work ethic. I’m just trying to enjoy my football and I will play at the top level as long as possible.”
