Liverpool will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Carabao Cup final.

Alexander-Arnold limped out of last weekend’s home win over Burnley after aggravating a knee injury he sustained in the FA Cup third round at Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp withdrew his vice-captain due to the recurrence of the issue, which has put paid to his involvement in the Wembley clash with Chelsea.

The England international was initially substituted midway through a Premier League loss against the Gunners a fortnight ago as a precautionary measure.

No timeframe has been given for Alexander-Arnold’s potential return but his understudy Conor Bradley is expected to return to a starring first-team role.

Bradley last featured for Liverpool in a 4-1 rout over Chelsea, where he produced two assists alongside his first goal for the club in a standout display.

But the Northern Irishman is only newly returning to training following a spell of compassionate leave in the wake of his father’s passing on February 3.

Klopp is facing mounting injury problems ahead of his side’s Wembley date with Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago Alcantara bothly freshly sidelined.

However the Liverpool manager may be able to call on Mohamed Salah for the February 25 showdown after he resumed team training on Tuesday.
