Jurgen Klopp has dismissed the idea of overhauling Liverpool’s squad this summer.
The Premier League champions have won just two of their previous 11 top-flight games heading into Sunday evening’s encounter with Sheffield United.
Jordan Henderson became the Reds’ latest casualty after he was ruled out for at least four weeks with an adductor injury sustained in the defeat to Everton.
However Klopp is adamant that his side do not require wholesale changes as a result of their title defence being heavily derailed in the last two months.
He said: “I don’t think it’s the time for a massive rebuild.
“How I understand it [a rebuild] is like six, seven out, running contracts but try to get rid of them and then bring in all the new faces.
“This squad this year didn’t have the chance to play together a long time, really. I think it would make sense to have a look at that as well.
“On top of that, little readjustments will happen; so reacting on the situation but planning in the same time for the future and all these kind of things.
“I’m not sure we can do that in the summer but that’s what we try.”
“The important message is even in this moment is we are still Liverpool, and that’s what we feel,” added Klopp.
“You cannot only be Liverpool on a day when you win 20 games in row or whatever or don’t lose home games for ages.
“No, we are still Liverpool and that’s exactly what I know and love. That’s what gives me the energy.
“I’m not here only for the big celebrations and stuff like this. I’m here for doing the work and if it’s necessary, the dirty work, the hard work – no problem.”
