Liverpool named UK’s third best tourist city

Liverpool has been named the third best city in the UK for tourism according to a recent survey by travel review website TripAdvisor.

Liverpool was only bested by London and Edinburgh in the survey and the result was met with huge praise from within the city.

“Third place, behind London an Edinburgh, is a terrific achievement and the many businesses that make up our visitor economy should be proud”, said Chris Brown, director of Marketing Liverpool.

“From the moment they get here, visitors see that Liverpool is an extremely friendly, safe, vibrant city and they are keen to tell others about it through TripAdvisor”, added Mr Brown.

Liverpool were joined in the Top Ten by fellow northern cities including, Llandudno (4th), Blackpool (5th), York (7th) and Manchester (10th).

TripAdvisor compiled their results data based on reviews and visits to their website.
