A doorman has been arrested after an assault at a Liverpool city centre bar.
Police were called to Smokies on Temple Court, close to Mathew Street, at 10.55pm on Saturday night following reports a man had suffered a head injury.
The 28-year-old was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as being serious but stable.
Officers arrested a 32-year-old man, believed to be a member of the bar’s security staff, at the scene on suspicion of GBH with intent.
An investigation into the incident is underway with CCTV enquiries undertaken.
