CCTV hunt for man behind Home Bargains racist abuse

Police are appealing for information after a shop worker was racially abused in Kensington.

The incident took place on March 25 this year at the Home Bargains store on Prescot Road.

A man suspected of shoplifting was challenged by a member of staff before making racist comments to the female worker.

He is described as slim build, in his 30s, approximately 5ft 10 in height and wearing a dark tracksuit with a grey fleece jacket.

Detective Inspector Nick Suffield from Merseyside Police said: “This incident resulted in a women being the victim of racist abuse.

“I am sure the local community would agree that this type of behaviour has no place in Merseyside.

“We tackle hate crime in all its forms and we want victims and offenders to be left in no doubt that offences targeting people because of their race, disability, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity will not be tolerated.”
