The RSPCA have launched an appeal for a baby guinea pig who was found shivering and shaking in a garden in Liverpool.
The tiny guinea pig, thought to be aged around four to five weeks old, was discovered by a woman in Fernhurst Road after her cat brought it into the garden.
RSPCA inspector Louise Showering went to collect the pup – now called Pumpkin – and is now caring for her.
She said: “Pumpkin has some nasty puncture wounds from the cat’s teeth but, luckily, she wasn’t badly hurt.
“She must have been terrified but came off quite lightly considering her ordeal.
“When I first collected her, she wasn’t eating but she’s doing much better now she’s had some antibiotics and treatment for ringworm.”
The RSPCA is now keen to hear from anyone who may recognise little Pumpkin, or thinks she might belong to them.
Anyone with any information should contact the RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
