Firefighters tackling a fire which gutted a house in Allerton have finally begun dismantling the structure.
A blaze engulfed both floors of the premises on Mather Avenue on Sunday afternoon but was only been deemed safe for emergency services to enter earlier this afternoon.
It is not yet known whether the residents were inside the house at the time of the fire.
Crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service remain on the scene and aim to enter the building ‘as soon as possible’.
