According to a report in The Echo, pharm there has been an alarming increase with St Helens being a national hotspot.
Across Merseyside there have been over 2, pharm 000 incidents reported to Police that involved people leaving without paying. It means that almost 6 incidents per day are happening across Merseyside.
Incidents involving people leaving without paying have increased by almost 30% in a one year period.
Incidents included in the report typically included leaving a restaurant without paying or running from a taxi without settling the fare.
