Six Liverpool FC fans face prosecution over Old Trafford incidents

Six Liverpool fans are facing prosecution in connection with crowd trouble during the club’s Europa League win over Manchester United.

Adam Mckay, Carl Irvine, Ian Mullin, Joe Mcdonald, Patrick Cowhig and Sonny Parr, all from the Merseyside area, will face trial over the incidents which took place on March 17.

A number of charges were levelled against the Anfield club for the Old Trafford clash by UEFA, including crowd disturbances and setting off flares.

All six pleaded not guilty when they appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court at the end of last month but the alleged offences have yet to be disclosed.

The hearing will take place on March 13 next year at Preston Crown Court.
