Everton FC fan dies after collapsing at Goodison Park

An Everton fan has died after collapsing during the club’s Premier League game with Stoke City.

The incident happened midway through the second half of the Goodison Park clash, which Ronald Koeman’s side went on to win 1-0, in the Park End stand.

Paramedics and an off-duty doctor performed CPR on the 51-year-old at the stadium until an ambulance arrived which took him to Aintree Hospital.

However Everton confirmed that the man, since named as Derek Acker, had passed away in hospital.

“The thoughts and prayers of everybody at the football club are with his family and friends,” read a club statement.

“The club will continue to provide all the support possible to the family.”
