Police have made a murder arrest after a death in a Netherton.house.
North West Ambulance Service called officers from Merseyside Police to St Ambrose Croft at around 10am on Sunday (July 5) after a woman was discovered.
The victim in her 50s was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene and a post mortem is to be carried out to establish the cause of death.
A 30-year-old woman from the local area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody ahead of questioning in connection with the investigation.
Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: “Our thoughts at this time are with the family of the woman who has sadly passed way.
“As this matter is clearly in the very early stages, we would ask people to avoid speculating and allow us to carry out our enquiries.
“Although we have arrested a person in connection with the investigation, we are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
