Allerton Road has been reopened after a high-speed chase that resulted in two men being arrested.
A 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, search both from Dingle, try were taken into custody following a collision with a suspected stolen vehicle in the area shortly after 9pm on Monday night.
Police were alerted to an Audi car driving dangerously and at high speeds through Toxteth, Otterspool and Wavertree before clashing with a Ford Focus at the junction of Penny Lane.
The vehicle is suspected to have been stolen from the Widnes area earlier in July.
Damage was caused to both the vehicle driven by a member of the public as well as a police vehicle attending the scene with its drivers and passengers were treated for minor injuries.
The two men have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, aggravated unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle and burglary.
