Several schools across Liverpool have been targeted with suspected hoax threats.
A combination of primary and secondary schools throughout the city contacted parents on Monday morning (March 9) after receiving the emails.
LIPA School requested that parents not attend the city centre faculty while Chesterfield High School in Crosby underwent a temporary lockdown.
Other schools including Maricourt Catholic High School, Runnymede St Edward’s and Mosspits Primary in Wavertree also contacted parents.
Merseyside Police are currently investigating the threats but believe they are not credible and will be looking to identify those involved to take appropriate action.
Four schools across the region were previously the subject of hoax emails in January with a 21-year-old man from Runcorn later charged over the incidents.
Chief Inspector Phil Thompson said: “We understand that parents and carers will be concerned and as a result we are liaising with all schools and providing advice and reassurance as enquiries continue.
“Based on the information we have received and assessed,there has been no requirement for those schools to close.”
