Public transport across Merseyside will be heavily restricted in the festive period.
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has confirmed a number of changes set to be implemented in and around Christmas Day on multiple transport modes.
Free buses will be running on December 25 until 6pm to cover most hospital routes only while Mersey Ferries and train services will be suspended on the day itself.
Ferries are also not set to run between December 24 and 28 as well as January 1.
However three bus services will be running on their usual timetable on December 27 and January 1 to cover Liverpool FC home matches taking place on those dates.
Cllr Steve Foulkes, transport committee chair, said: “Whether travelling for work, leisure, Christmas parties, last-minute present shopping or simply to visit relatives, we would urge passengers to make sure that they plan their journeys in advance as there will be changes to services across the city region across the festive period.
“This is always a very busy time of year for everyone and as always, the work that our frontline public transport colleagues do over this period is always hugely appreciated.”
