Pensioner arrested after delivery driver kill threat

A pensioner has been arrested after threats to kill a delivery driver in Kensington.

Police were called to Sheil Road at around 5.35pm on Saturday after reports that a local resident had been seen in possession of a firearm and seen making threats.

Armed officers attended the scene and were able to seize a BB gun while also detaining the man. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that a 78-year-old man from Kensington was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and threats to kill.

He was taken to a police station and has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
