A man arrested at Liverpool Airport on drugs charges has been jailed.
Cormac Graham was detained at the Speke terminal in July following his return from Amsterdam with a quantity of drugs he had attempted to smuggle into the country..
Liverpool Crown Court heard that the father-of-one had offered cannabis for sale on an Instagram account under the name ‘Liverpool Loud Packs’ since February 2023.
Graham’s email address and phone number were used to set up the page while two phones seized upon arrest were still logged into the social media profile.
The 24-year-old from Old Swan had eight previous convictions for 16 offences including a jail term for the supply of heroine and crack cocaine in November 2022.
Graham admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis and fraudulently evading the prohibition on the importation of cannabis and psilocybin.
Appearing via video link from HMP Liverpool, he was jailed for 12 months.
Judge Robert Trevor-Jones, sentencing, said: “You are still a young man. This is the second drug supply conviction that you have had.
“As far as this is concerned, it was a relatively sophisticated offence. You set up your business via an Instagram account, advertising cannabis for sale.
“There were large amounts of followers, almost 3,000 people. It goes to show that it was clearly an active and popular account.
“It was not a constant enterprise where you were involved in daily supply.
“Nonetheless, it was an extended period of time.”
