Police are investigating an alleged attack by the Southport killer in prison.
Axel Rudakubana is serving a minimum 52-year sentence for the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe at Taylor Swift-themed dance party.
Since being found guilty of fatal stabbings of the three schoolgirls in July 2024 and injury a further 10 people, the 18-year-old has been housed at HMP Belmarsh.
Rudakubana, who is originally from Cardiff, is understood to have poured boiling water on a prison officer using a kettle in his cell during the incident on Thursday.
A Prison Service spokesperson confirmed: “Police are investigating an attack on a prison officer at HMP Belmarsh.
“Violence in prison will not be tolerated and we will always push for the strongest possible punishment for attacks on our hard-working staff.”
