Liverpool city centre roads re-open after two bombs removed

Police have confirmed that roads in an area of Liverpool city centre have been reopened after bomb disposal experts removed two devices.

Bomb disposal experts have assessed two devices discovered at the scene close to Pall Mall which have now been removed from the area and taken for further examination.

The cordon that was surrounding the area has now been fully removed and local businsesses will be allowed to return as soon as possible.

The bombs were removed after a contractor called Merseyside Police at around 11am this morning to inform them that he had found two “World War 2” bombs.
