A woman who was pulled from Waterloo Dock has been pronounced dead in hospital.
It is thought the woman was in a Ford Fiesta when it entered the water after crashing through iron barriers of an apartment block car park.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9.30am.
Emergency Services confirmed three rescue team crew members entered the water to free a woman from a car that was completely submerfed in water.
A member of the emergency services freed the “elderly woman” from her vehicle before CPR was performed at the scene/
Merseyside police confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead in hospital.
Work is ongoing to identify the woman and her next of kin, decease
