Merseyside will be placed in a local lockdown to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Restrictions announced by the Government are set to take effect from Tuesday, September 22 due to an increase in cases related to the pandemic.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that neighbouring regions Warrington, Halton and parts of Lancashire will also fall under the ruling.
