Local man raises £1k in Sefton Park Fundraiser

Local man, Kevin Sartorius, has raised £1,000 for the NHS after walking 100 laps of Sefton Park in 20 days.

Kevin who is an ex dj, now a landscapae gardener, felt compelled to raise the vital funds for the NHS after he was treated for Type 2 Diabetes. Kevin went on to lose weight and reverse his  Diabetes diagnosis.

Kevin explained ” I was a Bodybuilder but the Djing and late nights led to me eating junk and drinking each night that I was behind the decks and after being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes I decided to change my lifestyle and get fit again as I felt I was being a burden on the NHS. I eventually started doing walks in princes park and added extra minutes per day then Sefton Park circuit where my weight started to come off”.  Kevin hopes that now he  has completed this challenge he will be able to help others.

On May 16th, Kevin completed his 100th lap of the Liverpool Park. Kevin had been walking 5 laps each morning and completed a total of 12 miles each day.

Kevin completed the challenge in aid of NHS Charities Together as he says the NHS has touched the lives of everyone at some point and he was concerned by the lack of proper PPE in the fight against Covid-19.

Kevin is keen to continue fundraising and is currently planning his next challenge.
