A man has been killed when a tree fell in high winds in Black Woods, Woolton.
The man is believed to have been in the woods walking his dog when a tree fell down and killed the man. The incident happened shortly after 11am this morning.
It is believed that high winds are to be blamed for the incident as they continue to batter Merseyside.
Emergency services including fire crew and paramedics were called to the scene before a large section of the woods were cordoned off.
Merseyside Police have confirmed the death of a 60-year-old man and his family have been informed.
