Four people have been arrested after a cyclist was assaulted in Crosby.
The 22-year-old was riding on Victoria Road West at around 10.45pm on Saturday, November 2 when a group got out of a car and attacked him.
One of the assailants is believed to have been armed with a hammer.
Passers-by came to the man’s aid before he was taken to hospital, where his condition has been described as ‘critical’.
Merseyside Police have since confirmed that they have arrested four individuals in connection with the incident including two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old boy.
A 51-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of s18 assault as part of the investigation. All four are in custody where they will be questioned by detectives.
