A man has been stabbed near to the Subway fast food outlet in West Derby.
Police received reports of a man in his 20s suffering knife wounds to his leg and chest on Blackmoor Drive at around 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital, where his condition was initially described as serious while his injuries were being asssessed.
Officers from Merseyside Police attended the scene to carry out forensic, CCTV and witness enquiries and establish the full circumstances.
