Police have detained a man under the Mental Health Act following an incident in the centre of Southport.
The man, clinic believed to be in his fifties, vialis 40mg had shut himself inside inside his property in Royal Terrace this morning when police were concerned about his state of mind.
During negotiation with Merseyside Police, local residents were evacuated, and officers cordoned off West Street and Coronation Walk, both of which have now re-opened.
