A 29 year-old man was tragically killed on Saturday, after being hit by a car on Wapping, close to the Albert Dock area.
Emergency services arrived on the scene and the man was rushed to hospital at around 12.45am on Saturday, but later died from his injuries.
Police stated that the man was hit by an Audi A3, close to the Ibis Hotel, and that the driver stopped to help Police with their inquiries.
The victim was believed to be visiting the city from North Yorkshire for the weekend, his next of kin have been notified, and a coroner’s inquest will now take place.
Police are examining CCTV to establish the details of the accident, but no arrests have been made.
