An inquest in to the death of two clubbers who died on boxing night at Cream concluded today.
The coroner has ruled that both 21 year old John Milburn and 47 year old Andrew Glaister died after they took drugs at the closing party of Cream.
Speaking of John Milburn’s death the coroner concluded “The only reason John passed away was because he took this substance.
“If he hadn’t have taken it he’d still be with us today.”
“The medical evidence is sadly very clear.
“The reason John is not with us is because he took MDMA.
“John is an adult and he took that decision, but his body couldnt withstand it that particular night.
“I accept the evidence of Jamie Maclean. John attended the Cream nightclub for a grand finale event. This was a dance event scheduled to last through to the following morning, and I’m satisfied the club did everything it could by having trained door staff and medics.”
Andrew Glaister was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, with doctors informed it was a possible MDMA case. He was admitted to intensive care with multi-organ failure.
The coroner said: “On December 28, his condition worsened and he continued to deteriorate.
“Mr Glaister was unfortunately unsurvivable and he passed away on December 29.”
The coroner adds: “He was profoundly unconscious at hospital. His condition didn’t improve over three days.”
The coroner confirmed that ultimately Mr Glaister also died of MDMA Toxicity.
